Writing Desire in Confessional Poetry  

In this session: At the Intersection of Femininity and Desire, Hannah Bonner will speak about the history of confessional poetry, desire, and harnessing your erotics to enrich your creative life. We'll look at examples from writers like Sylvia Plath, Anne Sexton, and Bonner's own work. Attendees will also be provided with writing exercises and craft essays to consult to help support new generative work. 

Meet the Wonderful Poet, Hannah Bonner

Hannah Bonner is a graduate of the Nonfiction Writing Program at the University of Iowa and a 2023-2024 National Book Critics Circle Emerging Fellow. Her film criticism and book reviews have been published, or are forthcoming, in Another Gaze, Cleveland Review of Books, Literary Hub, the Los Angeles Review of Books, and The Sewanee Review. She is the author of Another Woman (EastOver Press, 2024) and lives in Iowa.

  • Yes absolutely. We will be meeting over a Zoom session. You can attend from any part of the world. Every one of our workshops is recorded. Even if for some reason you cannot attend the live session: you’ll receive a full 2 hour long replay of the workshop. Along with a document of the readings + resources and writing exercises from the session.

  • Due to the exclusive nature of our workshops, and community— the seats are very limited. We won’t be able to offer a refund once you’ve signed up. Every spot is exclusive. We have a no refund policy. Everyone who signs up for any workshop or community agrees to all our Refund policy, along with the Terms and Condition page of this website.
